Our lil' jumping bean!

Week: Almost 13

So we had our first sneak peek at the little munchkin this week and it was so moving....emotionally & literally! From the moment the ultrasound wand hit my stomach, we could see the baby and it was SOOO clear...wow, an actual BABY with arms, legs and cute little hands. We saw the lil' bean jumping all around inside me - doing jumps and swirls like a maniac. A really cute, precious maniac that is :-) Ryan couldn't believe with all that movement that i couldn't feel it yet. I'm sure that is right around the corner though.

Side notes from some of our biggest supporters....My Dad swears he saw a penis, but maybe that was just wishful thinking? he did say it had my nose - which wouldn't be a bad thing. Ry's Mom said with all that movement, it's bound to be a mini-ry. So far, the verdict from family & friends = it's a boy. The verdict from mommy..it could still be a girl. but what do i know?

Last night i took the lil' jumpin bean with me to a concert, since i knew he/she would be up for it. With all that movement, it's likely to have its momma's killer dance moves!

to an exciting week,

12 weeks & counting...

our first big milestone...we finally got to share the news with friends & family this week and it felt great:-) Thanks for all the wishes, baby C is lucky to be surrounded by such supportive friends & family!

The counting down still continues on..
- 1 day until first ultrasound
- 1 week until i enter 2nd trimester
- 8 weeks until we find out the gender
- 28 weeks until we meet our little miracle
and the list goes on..

As far as pregnancy goes...i'm still feeling pretty normal, and can't believe there's really a plum-sized baby growing inside me. so far, i've gained 10lbs (yikes), which means there are no worries about momma & baby staying fueled for growth :-)

feeling full & fortunate,

Shout it from the rooftops baby!

Week: 11 1/2

Hello small following of readers, i think just the moms! haha. but that's about to change soon, because we're just shy of the 12 week announcement! only a few more days & i can't wait to shout it from the rooftops : I'M (WE'RE) PREGNANT !!! wooowho!!

This past week's symptom adventures: fatigue has decreased (yay), night nauseous has came in waves (gross), and bathroom breaks have been NON-STOP (annoying)! i haven't slept through the night in a few weeks, averaging two bathroom wake-up calls a night - just lovely. and my pants are cutting off circulation...yay

i can imagine most pregnant women can agree that this first trimester = just strange. The tests say you're pregnant, you know the symptoms match up..but you sure as heck don't LOOK pregnant. i know it's coming..pretty soon that bump is going to make a grand appearance and i wont have to be accused of eating all the office donuts anymore... well maybe

ready for round 2,

Swoosh Swoosh

July 11th: week 10

pregnancy check-up, turned surprise moment! i thought it wasn't going to happen until 12 weeks... but after a few tries we heard the "swoosh swoosh"...yes a HEARTBEAT!

baby card is alive & growing...most incredible sound i've ever heard :-)

excited expectants,
r & j

Under the Tuscan Sun

June 29: week 8 1/2

i was off to Tuscany to meet up with my BFF Lauren, her mom, aunt & cousin. it was a short visit, 3 days to make the rounds of villages - but it was simply breathtaking. No shortage of old buildings, castles, vineyards, fabulous food and gorgeous views of every city.

highlight moment? 3 american girls getting the rental car stuck in a ditch 5 miles from our villa. hunting down help after trying to dig ourselves out of clay. a pack of farm workers saving the day & towing us out....all started with a simple sunflower photoshoot.

baby card must have loved it, because i stayed pretty well balanced and had enough energy to walk all the towns. as long as i had food to fuel (mostly pasta), everything was great :-)

want to see how beautiful it really was? view a small snapshot:

Olive's World Travels

June 29th: week 8

well my friends, the little sprinkle has grown to the delicious size of an OLIVE. Mmmm…what I would give for an extra dirty martini right now. Since the first update of baby sprinkle, not much has changed in my symptoms or mood. Just been EXTRA hungry and also annoyed by the large list of foods I need to avoid. I mean lunchmeat? I love sandwiches. The good news? there'll be no shortage of deli’s in the next 7 months , so I can eat all the sandwiches I want in 2012 and I’m happy to sacrifice a slice of ham for a little miracle baby!

the newest adventures for sprinkle? WORLD TRAVELS…this little olive has already been to the southern heart of Arkansas , the sandy beaches of The Cape and the streets of Lubeck, Germany. Maybe all this jet-setting will give the little olive the travel bug later in life! Me & olive are off to Tuscany, Italy….wish us safe travels!

i’ll have a martini, extra dirty, hold the vodka.. thanks

cheers,
mama j

mmm...is that a sprinkle?

June 9th, end of week 5

baby card has been brewing for a few weeks and already the hunger has blossomed. and if i'm not hungry enough, every article i read compares my new insides to a sweet treat or delicious snack. This week? a sprinkle! it's the size of a sprinkle. yum. As i'm being enlightening about the little growing being inside me, all i can think about is where the closest cupcake shop might be. really...all i have in the office refrigerator is an apple to be indulged with oatmeal? ughhh gross.

okay so back to the little sprinkle that started it all. if i didn't have anything to compare it too, i'm not sure i'd even believe there was really something growing in there. i mean i'm hungry, tired and mildly irritable, but mostly feel completely normal! it's been almost 6 weeks and all i have to show for it is an appetite and a sprinkle i can't eat.

eager to eat,
mama j

no way..that can't be!

June 3rd, start of week 5

wednesday: pee on a stick, says negative
thursday: bummed out
friday: shopping with mom, period cramps, should be getting my flow
saturday: celebrate anniversary with hubs
sunday: 2 yr anniversary, pee on a stick, says POSITIVE! freak out, wake sleeping hubs, cry

is this really happening? finally a baby card to fill our lives? wow, speechless :-)

still can't believe it,
mama j
